Chad & Amy Married!
Loved:
Photographing these two! When we met, Chad & Amy had so many ideas as to the kind of unique images they had in mind for their wedding photos.
Great sports! Well, I am pretty sure that it was the coldest day so far this year, we were on the lake, it was wet, windy, muddy…but there could have been a hurricane and Amy, Chad, and their wedding party would have braved through anything that day with great spirits. Great people!
As I am editing through these images, I had to post of few of these for you.

Loved:
Meeting and working with Lindsy~ She is such an inspiration with a genuine heart of gold. Her love for life and compassion truly radiate from her. We had a lot of fun during this session!
Visiting Whispering Hearts Horse Rescue~Lindsy is a volunteer at the rescue and along with other generous volunteers, spends hours helping and loving up these animals. I admire the work that is done at Whispering Hearts whose mandate is to provide care and rehabilitation to abused and neglected horses. They assist members of the community that can no longer care for their horses, in an attempt to prevent innocent animals being subjected to the auctions and slaughter. Meet Rebecca – Portrait Session ~ May 10, 2011
Meet Rebecca once and you’ll just love her. She is a beautiful, strong woman who over comes hardships by facing them head on. Rebecca recently had ileostomy surgery which Rebecca admits, has been a difficult road. She has had to adapt and learn not only change in her daily routine, but is working on self acceptance, and changing how she defines her own beauty. Rebecca is truly an inspiration as she described how she hopes that these images will help empower others with ostomies, including young people, to embrace and see themselves as beautiful. Her courage and spirit are both remarkable and infectuous and will undoubtably have a positive influence on others. Rebecca credits Uncover Ostomy for the inspiration for her session. Thank you for this invaluable opportunity Rebecca. Here are a few images from our session~

Jillian & Joe’s Wedding – Bean Town, February 26, 2011
Last weekend I had the opportunity to photograph a long time friends’ wedding in Ottawa. I was honored when Jillian asked me to have this special part in her wedding. They planned a rustic, beautiful winter wedding at Bean Town Ranch, just outside of Ottawa. I loved the contrast of the cold outdoors (it was a really cold day on Saturday- ask anyone in the wedding party that braved the temperature for photos). And the warmth of the Ranch and the Chapel that had lit stone fireplaces and warm coloured lights and lanterns which instantly thawed you and gave a cozy, intimate feeling when you entered. The staff at Bean town were so accomodating to the couple and their famlies. In the words of the coordinator/owner, “we are the wedding party that you can boss around”, which made me laugh as she described her staffs’ role. I really enjoyed working with their team.
This was the first opportunity that I got the chance to meet Joe. And I instantly realized how he captured Jillian’s heart. As it was mentioned in speeches, Joe has a smile that lights up a room and he has a great sense of humor. I’m not gonna lie, he’s a good looking guy too! (that one’s for you Joe!! laughing!). Although I think that Joe really is the lucky one here (I am a bit bias-I admit, haha). Jillian is as genuine as they come. She lives like there is no tomorrow, shows love to all who are close to her and radiates beauty inside and out. She was so calm in preparing prior to the ceremony, even when she managed to have left behind an important and necassary garment at home(laughing!).
It was wonderful to spend some time with Jillian and her new husband, Joe! I got to catch up with some people that hold a special place in my heart and nearing the end of this celebration, fast dance with my husband on the dance floor! (You know it’s a great party when Ryan is actually grabbing me to dance to the fast songs!!)
